Sources & retrieval
The source matters as much as the story.
Our news cards are gateways to other publications. The original article, its author and its context remain at the publisher.
Approved sources
Global Voices: LGBTQ+ and USA topic feeds. Original headlines are linked with author credit and the CC BY 3.0 license. Its republishing policy allows commercial reuse with attribution unless otherwise stated.
LSE US Politics & Policy: LGBTQ+ tagged research and commentary, generally older background. The republishing policy provides CC BY 4.0 unless otherwise marked. We identify the article’s credited author rather than a feed administrator.
No article bodies, excerpts or source photographs are reproduced on the site. Headlines are unchanged apart from decoding markup entities and displaying plain text. These sources and their authors do not endorse Gay News USA.
Retrieval and outages
The separately activated service checks approved feeds every two hours. Cards show publication time in UTC. “Last successful retrieval” refers to the feed check. A failure preserves the last good cards, marks affected sources delayed and records the attempt. An old publication date never becomes a new story date.
Recent stories were published within 30 days. Include older reading to see background. Category labels are a browsing aid; the publisher’s article provides the context. Good News is used only when that term appears in publisher metadata, rather than an automated judgment of whether a story is positive.
Limits
Our approved feeds provide selective coverage. Empty categories are possible. A reachable RSS endpoint is not itself a republication license, and a feed may be disabled if rights, attribution or reliability are unclear. The site’s original guides remain readable if retrieval is unavailable.
